Tottenham Hotspur starlet Troy Parrott is attracting interests from Serie A
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott might find a new home in Serie A, per Daily Star (h/t Football London). The 21-year-old is arguably a forgotten figure among the Spurs fans. However, he was a trusted aid for Jose Mourinho during the latter’s tenure in North London.
The forward was signed by Spurs in 2019 from Belvedere. Parrott featured in only two games for his then-Spurs boss before being transferred to Tottenham’s U18 and U23 sides. However, the Dublin-born player was given a contract extension in 2020 that kept at the club until 2023.
Things didn’t progress well for the prodigy as he spent a series of loan stints at lower-tier clubs like Millwall, Ipswich Town, Milton Keynes Dons, Preston North End and currently, Excelsior. His performance with the MK Dons earned him another contract extension with his parent club until 2025.
Troy Parrott has six goals and three assists to his name in the Eredivisie, helping him attract interest from several Serie A clubs. However, it remains to be seen which are those clubs.
A return to North London is on the cards for Troy Parrott?
The Irish forward became a fan-favourite right after his debut against Burnley where Spurs won 5-0. He was immediately affected by injuries and slowly started to drift away from everyone’s attention.
However, Parrott was in the good books of Antonio Conte, Pochettino and Jose Mourinho. His chance to prove his worth to Ange Postecoglou was once again cut short by injury. While the Aussie manager is eyeing new talents, especially youngsters, Parrott seems to be a fine choice.

It is learned that Tottenham are tracking his progress with Excelsior Rotterdam. The Irish forward would any day prefer proving his worth to his parent club and its faithful over a trip abroad. Should Ange Postecogkou call him back, the return will open up chances for an experienced Troy Parrott to showcase he is worth the billing.
