Tottenham Hotspur are trying to land Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton
Tottenham Hotspur appears to be interested in Jarrad Branthwaite, per The Daily Mail. While it looked like Tottenham had found their answers to the defensive shortcomings with Radu Dragusin signing, there emerges another story.
Spurs apparently have their eyes on Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite. The media outlet also reveals that the homegrown talent is also chased by Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester Unity and Manchester City.
Perhaps the defender is a part of Ange Postecoglou’s long-term goals. There are rumours surrounding the possible exit of Emerson Royal. This would require another defensive talent to join the Spurs ranks.
However, Jarrad Branthwaite, a regular for the Toffees, would not want to be a benchwarmer should he move to North London. The return of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero will make it difficult for any other centre-back to find a regular position in the team. Ange is up for a challenge!
Jarrad Branthwaite’s CV
Jarrad Branthwaite is the epitome of ‘working one’s way up’. The 21-year-old earned quite a reputation with his youth club Carlise United. He earned the Everton contract in 2020 for two years. Give was granted an extension that kept him with the Merseysiders for another year.
The prodigy was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers and later to PSV and Jong PSV. He returned to his parent club ahead of the season, earning a permanent position under Sean Dyche. He boasts a staggering stature and is also a prominent figure for the England U21.
Ange Postecoglou is investing a lot in youngsters lately. We learned about his pursuit of the 18-year-old Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge. The Lilywhites gaffer would want Branthwaite by his side to strengthen his back-four, especially if Emerson leaves by the end of the season.

The switch might not entice Jarrad Branthwaite as he is finally enjoying regular playing time in Everton. A gamble with his regular spot in the starting XI isn’t something he should take at this stage. The next few months hold many surprises for the Spurs fans.
