Chris Sutton believes Harry Kane has reasons to be envious of Tottenham Hotspur
Chris Sutton speculates Harry Kane is jealous of Tottenham’s season via ‘It’s All Kicking Off’ podcast, per The Daily Mail. The comment comes following a shocking 1-0 defeat the Bavarians faced at the hands of Werder Bremen. He said:
I think Harry will be looking at what’s gone on at Spurs, watching their brand of football. I think there’s a bit of jealousy there.
Sutton’s co-host Ian Ladyman said:
‘Harry, you’re out of the German Cup. You’ve got to come home. You’re not going to get your medal at Bayern. You’ve got to come home. Come back to Tottenham, mate.’
The loss against Bremen has created a seven-point deficit between them and Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen. Thomas Tuchel didn’t hold himself back and criticized the players in a post-match press conference. The loss means, Harry Kane drifts further away from his dreams.
Harry Kane’s jinxed career
Harry Kane holds an infamous record of scoring the most number of goals without winning a trophy. In his ten senior seasons with the club, Kane never won a trophy. The closest he ended up was after receiving the runners-up medal for the Football League Cup/EFL Cup runner in 2014–15 and 2020–21 and the UEFA Champions League in 2019.
He moved from North London to Bayern Munich in search of silverware. Bayern Munich have made the German league their own, while also being strong contenders for the Champions League every season. The Bavarians have been enjoying a monopoly by winning the title for 11 consecutive seasons.
