Newcastle United looking for a late move for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are looking forward to signing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on loan this transfer window.
The Magpies are eager to bolster their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window. They have set their sights on Hojbjerg to bolster their midfield as they strive for a place in Europe next season as well.
The poor start to the campaign, which has put the Magpies in a meagre tenth in the PL standings leaves them without an option but to look for reinforcements during January so that they can be able to return back and compete hard enough to finish somewhere close to the top half of the table.
However, financial regulations have limited their activities in the market because they are forced to sell players even before buying any new signings. The 28-year-old finds himself on the periphery of the team due to intense competition for a place in Ange Postecoglou’s midfield from Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr.
There has been much speculation involving him being transferred to the Serie A, with Juventus showing keen interest in his transfer. The window was quite busy for the Spurs and there are suggestions that they want to clear out some space as summer approaches. The area of Newcastle’s midfield has shortages as Joelinton is the recent addition to that injury list. But the club is restricted when it comes to funds that could be used for reinforcing acquisitions.
After a promising spell on the south coast, the Danish international earned Tottenham’s interest and was part of their setup until newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou came along. Indeed, Hojbjerg does continue to play for the North London club but most of his appearances have been as a substitute. He has played only 20 matches in the Premier League this season.

As he reaches the peak of his career, Hojbjerg undoubtedly has his sights set on reclaiming a spot in the starting 11. There is still a chance for him to do so at Spurs, provided he can make a lasting impression. However, there is also the possibility of him exploring other options this transfer window, as Newcastle have shown interest in him.
