Tottenham’s hopes arise as Antonio Nusa’s move to Brentford faces ‘problems’
Tottenham Hotspur might have dodged a bullet as Antonio Nusa’s medical at Brentford shows concerns, per The Standard. The Bees agreed to sign the 18-year-old winger for £31.5million. Brentford is now seeking more medical information concerning the prodigy from Club Brugge and the Norwegian Football Federation.
Thomas Frank’s side has been one of the busiest clubs this transfer window. The Bees signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham, Hakon Rafn Valdimarsson from Elfsborg and Yunus Emre Konak from Sivasspor.
It is learned that they would still hope to complete the move before the window shuts close. However, the news has re-opened the Nusa chapter for many other clubs that have been pursuing him.
The youngster has three goals and two assists in the Belgian top flight this season. His play-making abilities are lauded just as his pace and dribbling skills. The deadline is drawing closer, and Nusa remains on the radar for several teams.
A second chance for Spurs
The details of concerns regarding Antonio Nusa’s fitness are unclear. It is not quite sure whether Spurs would have faced similar issues. The North London club wanted a young attacker by their side and have been chasing the Norway superstar for quite some time.
Nusa chose Brentford over Spurs as he was guaranteed a spot in the starting XI and The Bees also agreed to loan him back to Club Brugge for the remainder of the season.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have had a relatively silent transfer window this term. Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin remain the only January incomings this time. From the look of it, the club might not hesitate to make a move right on time to pursue Antonio Nusa once again.
