Tottenham star Brennan Johnson says Maupay cannot reign supreme at ‘Spurs’ home’

Tottenham Hotspur star Brennan Johnson took it to Instagram to take another jibe at Neal Maupay over the infamous ‘dart-throwing celebration’. The 22-year-old added a picture of him doing the signature James Maddison celebration with a comment that said ‘Not in our house’.

The caption is a clear message for the visitors who took an early lead but succumbed before the full-time whistle at Spurs’ home. Brentford found the opening via Neal Maupay’s goal in the 15th minute. The Bees striker celebrated by mimicking James Maddison’s celebration.

Speaking to TNT Sport in the post-match interview, Maddison said Maupay doesn’t have enough goals to have his own celebration, urging the Brentford man to copy his. The Frenchman’s celebration wasn’t received well by the Spurs players or the fans.

There was pushing and shoving between the two sides during the half-time break. Spurs retaliated with three second-half goals, where Brennan Johnson and Richarlison didn’t hold back from mocking Maupay in a similar fashion.

It doesn’t end there

He mocks Maddison.

They mock Maupay back.
Johnson takes it to Instagram to send one last message.

However, it doesn’t end there!

The Brentford forward wasn’t done with his share of response. Maupay posted a picture of him on Instagram (doing the same celebration, yes.) and took another dig at James Maddison via his caption. It reads: Went a bit early with that one. Gutted we couldn’t get the win. More goals and less relegations in my career than James Maddison. We go again monday bees.

According to Sky Sports, Ange Postecoglou wasn’t happy about his players’ reaction to the incident. He urged his players to maintain discipline during such times. The Bees Boss Thomas Frank had somewhat the same response. He said the incident wasn’t enough to wind up the opponents.
