Tottenham boss says Pape Matar Sarr will be on the team sheet against Everton
Ange Postecoglou reveals the inclusion of Pape Matar Sarr and further updates while speaking to the media, per Football London. The Aussie head coach was speaking to the press before the Everton clash. Upon being asked about the latest team news, Ange says:
Everyone got through the other night OK so no issues, obviously a short turnaround so the lads still recovering from that, so we haven’t really done too much training-wise but they all feel good. And obviously Pape Sarr’s back. He had a long trip back so we’ll assess him after training. Fair to say he’ll be involved but I’m not sure to what extent.
Senegal bowed out of the tournament early after losing against Ivory Coast. The current champions had an underwhelming campaign this term. The early exit means, the Spurs will have access to Pape Matar Sarr.
The Lilywhites benefitted massively from Pape Matar Sarr’s inclusion, especially when the manager faced troubles with injury woes and suspension. Sarr was also a trusted figure when his partner Yves Bissouma faced troubles with indiscipline on the pitch.
Tottenham regaining full strength
Pape Matar Sarr’s inclusion will add depth to the squad. The team is gaining full strength slowly and steadily. James Maddison is also back to being a complete fit. The former Leicester man was seen limping out after the Brentford game but Ange confirmed Madders is fit to play tonight.
Heung-min Son and Yves Bissouma’s return is what is anticipated next by the boss and the fans. The former has entered the semi-finals of the Asian Cup after defeating Australia in a late-game drama. The latter will face Mali today in the quarterfinals.
