Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson praises Tottenham Hotspur but still leaves them out of the title-contender zone
According to the Express, Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is full of praise for the form Tottenham Hotspur have shown this season but still believes they wont contend for the Premier League title.
Liverpool lead the rankings with a seven point lead opver Tottenham in fifth. Manchester City are two points off the top with a game in hand. According to Ederson, Liverpool and Arsenal are the only teams that can pose a challenge to his team’s pursuit of glory this year.
Ederson said:
“There’s Liverpool, us, Arsenal, Tottenham who started the season very well, playing great football, but there are also other teams having great campaigns.”
However, as suggested by Ederson, it seems practically unrealistic for Tottenham and Aston Villa to threaten the Blues’ attempts to claim the Premier League crown, despite the fact that these two title contenders are positioned close to Manchester City in the standings. While we would love to be proved wrong, we do not want to get our hopes up given that our best is yet to come.
Kevin De Bruyne has returned from his injury layoff with a bang and is a tour de force for Manchester City going forward. Add to it Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola has the difference makers at his disposal to negotiate the final games of the season.
Tottenham are in good nick and a couple of good results will certainly see us back in the mix. For now, it is imperative that we do not pay attention to what rival stars say and instead focus on our games, one at a time.
Tottenham’s current league position is impressive, surpassing expectations. We cannot afford to lose track of what we have achieved and what we can going forward. Trash talk from rivals is to be expected and few at Tottenham will care about what Ederson thinks. We prefer to do our talk on the pitch.
