Famous journo Paul Brown lauds Tottenham star Richarlison
Renowned sports journalist Paul Brown believes Tottenham Hotspur fans are fortunate to have Richarlison by their side, per GiveMeSport. The comment comes after Richarlison’s sensational form that continued with a brace against Everton. Brown says,
“Spurs fans may not realise just what a talent they’ve got there, but I think they will see that over the next few weeks. He gives them something nobody else in their squad has.”
The Brazilian has missed just three games for The Lilywhites this season. Twice due to a groin injury and once as an unused sub against the fateful 4-1 loss versus Chelsea. A silent first half of the season is being answered with a rather strong comeback.
Brown also emphasized Ange Postecoglou’s trust in his man. He says the Spurs boss knew he could count on Richarlison to don the number 9 role when the time comes.
Slow but steady
Richarlison was arguably the best player at Everton until his departure. The club had to sell him to raise funds and Tottenham were more than happy to pair him with Harry Kane. However, the season was nothing short of a nightmare for him.
Richarlison could score just one goal from 27 games! The start of the 2023/24 campaign brought nothing new to the table for the 26-year-old. He could net just once from 12 games.
What came later was expected by none. Perhaps, Richarlison himself. The Brazil international’s form skyrocketed and kick-started his rampant run. He has now scored nine goals from the previous eight Premier League outings. All this, without Heung-min Son.
