The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke says Richarlison wasn’t happy that Harry Kane occupied his predominant position
Renowned journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke, via The View From The Lane podcast, revealed that Richarlison was unhappy the last season due to Harry Kane‘s presence. Jack Pitt-Brooke is an expert journo who covers Tottenham Hotspur for The Atheltic.
His expertise and love affair with The Lilywhites makes him credible for such claims. Speaking on the podcast, Pitt-Brooke said Richarlison didn’t quite enjoy playing out of his natural position. His words:
“The confidence element is connected to the football element because he’s (Richarlison) always wanted to play as a number nine. Even when Harry Kane was at the club, he would get p—– off that he was not playing as a centre forward.”
Richarlison switched gears in the past few weeks. He now has nine goals from his last nine Premier League outings, taking his tally to 10. Let’s not forget that he’s the same man who scored just one goal from 27 games last season.
Harry Kane’s replacement has already been found?
Filling Harry Kane’s shoes is not an easy task. The man has left a legacy worth remembering forever, not just at Spurs but also in the Premier League. The goal-scoring machine is the second-most top scorer in the history of the competition.
Coming to the man of the hour, Richarlison is a risk-taker, period! Moving to a club that has someone like Harry Kane in the ‘number 9’ role, is a scary factor for any centre-forward; but, Richarlison took the chance. The first season might have made him regret his choice, however, fortune does favour the brave.
He is without a doubt the most in-form player within Spurs’ ranks. Now, comparing him with Harry Kane already is a mistake that the fans and pundits should avoid. We aren’t talking about anyone else here. It is HARRY KANE! The man who ruled the Premier League season after season when it came to goal-scoring.

Richarlison’s current form deserves a comparison to the club’s legend. However, he will have to walk the long road aka consistency before being adjudged as Kane’s replacement.
