Liverpool are looking to sign the Tottenham Hotspur target Lloyd Kelly in the summer
According to the Express, Tottenham Hotspur target Lloyd Kelly is now being targeted by the league leaders Liverpool. There is a stampede of interested parties eager to sign the defender as his contract with the Cherries winds down since he will be a free agent in the summer. It’s been reported that Tottenham has shown interest in the Cherries star for quite some time now.
We welcomed Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin to our squad last summer and January respectively. However, Ange Postecoglou is still looking to enhance our centre defence, especially considering the challenges we faced when van de Ven was unavailable due to injury or suspension. The 25-year-old has showcased his versatility by excelling in central defence and also performing admirably on the left side of the backline. His performances have garnered attention and highlighted the need for reinforcement.
Postecoglou’s priority now lies in securing a left-sided defender who can also cover the left-back position, given the importance of versatility in the team. Lloyd Kelly has been an impressive presence in the English top division, showcasing his ability to play both at left-back and left-wing. At 25 years old, he has captured the attention of many football fans with his performances.
Uncertainty looms over Virgil van Dijk’s future following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement to depart Anfield at the end of the season. However, the Dutchman has refuted earlier reports suggesting that he might follow Jurgen Klopp out of the club.
Whoever succeeds Klopp on Merseyside may not value Kelly as highly, despite his reputation as one of the top young defensive talents in the English top flight.
Events at Anfield in the coming months will be closely watched, with Spurs monitoring the situation as they maintain their interest in Kelly. Given the Cherries’ promising performance, it will be intriguing to see their stance on the potential departure of Kelly.

Nevertheless, the defender has yet to make a firm decision regarding his future and will be eager to wait until the Premier League season is over. Only then will he consider his options and engage in negotiations with potential suitors. We hope that our strong performance in the second half of the season can entice the player to join our side.
However, Liverpool’s position at the top of the table and their potential to win the league could pose serious threats to our pursuit. Nonetheless, we must remain patient and hopeful that Spurs can successfully secure the player.
