Viktor Djukanovic of Hammarby IF is under Tottenham Hotspur’s radar for the summer window
Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing another move for the up-and-coming youngster from the Swedish league, Viktor Djukanovic, per Swedish media outlet Fotboll Direkt. Djunkanovic’s sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg commented:
I cannot comment on what is going on, but the interest has been great and still is.
The media outlet also reveals that many top-tier clubs are interested in the youngster and the club also rejected a bid from Lazio. The Montenegro international is contracted with the club until the end of 2027.
Tottenham continues to tap uncharted territories, especially after landing Lucas Bergvall. The trip of a fellow league player should boost Djukanovic’s confidence in playing in England. The left-winger is a key player for Hammarby IF.
However, the club shouldn’t be holding back if a lucrative deal comes knocking. Futbol Direkt speculates the asking price for the prodigy would be not more than £15 million.
Out-of-the-box tactics
Ange Postecoglou has transformed the club for good. The North Londoners have become an attacking force like never before under their new boss. Quite lately, the club has also started trusting their youngsters a little too much.
Ange Postecoglou’s vision is far-fetched. It is quite evident that the Aussie manager’s target lies past the 2023/24 Premier League title fight or the top four spots. He is rebuilding the team! The former Celtic boss took over Tottenham without Harry Kane.
He moulded Richarlison into a beast and signed James Maddison, who can never make any striker look good. Most of his players are below the age of 25, many even younger than 22. Lucas Bergvall’s signing sends a message to young prodigies that Stamford Bridge Stadium is a place to build their future.
