Ange Postecoglou says that Tottenham star Ryan Sessegnon is back in training
Speaking in the pre-match press conference as quoted by Football. London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou says that Ryan Sessegnon is back with the squad after a long time and he will be training fully to become match-fit once again.
Speaking before Saturday’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Tottenham manager appears satisfied with the player’s performance up to this point.
Postecoglou said:
“This is his first week with us. Like I said, with Sess it’s about getting a body of work together – to give him confidence and us confidence that his body will be good. So far this week he’s trained well, done everything that’s been asked of him, and I hope that continues.”
For this season, the 23-year-old has not played for Spurs except for a 7-minute appearance that came during the FA Cup third-round win against Burnley in January. Sessegnon has overcome a hamstring issue and is looking to prove his mettle and shine in front of Postecoglou.
We aspire that the injuries and the fitness problems faced by Sessegnon will be a phase leading to the re-birth of his glorious career. Sessegnon has collected 53 appearances during his career. In those games, he has scored a total of three goals and made four assists.
With his contract at Spurs lasting until the summer of 2025, there’s hope that he can improve his fitness and return to his peak form to provide Postecoglou with something to consider. Spurs must stick with the defender and remain optimistic about his recovery from injury setbacks.
Spurs were in a better position injury-wise with the return of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the centre of the backline. James Maddison has returned to the starting lineup, while Son Heung-Min made a substitute appearance last week. The midfield is in top shape, with Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr prepared to connect once more. Udogie and Porro’s concerns will require Ben Davies and Emerson Royal to step up in north London against a confident Wolves side.

Sessegnon, at the age of 23, has not reached the heights imagined of him yet. That has consistently been the primary issue for the ex-Fulham player. His fitness is consistently an issue, never lasting for an extended period.
