Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is full of praise for the Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur despite returning from his injury
According to Football. London, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou says that Rodrigo Bentancur is a very reliable player and he is setting up a foundation for the upcoming season as well.
Last year in February, the Uruguay international suffered an ACL injury and required surgery. He was sidelined for the rest of the previous season and made his comeback in late October.
Postecoglou said:
“Again, I guess people look at it through the prism of players should be playing all the time and influential all the time, but we’re trying to build a squad here. I’ve got no doubt that whatever Rodri does this year, and he’s already contributed, he’s creating a great foundation for us for next year.”
Moreover, he returned to the pitch and came to participate for 58 minutes in a match against Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve. After leaving the game without any harm to his body, Ange Postecoglou has emphasized that the player will be a key player for Tottenham once his complete recovery is assured. This shows us that Postecoglou has full trust in the player. This is a brilliant quality of our manager who knows how to maintain a great relationship with the players helping him stay connected with the team on a regular basis.
The 26-year-old has returned, but he is not currently at his peak physical condition. It will be a few matches before he hits his peak performance, and that’s when his true abilities will shine through.
Once Bentancur is back to full fitness, his skills are expected to elevate Tottenham to a higher level. We can expect an increase in midfield dominance and a better balance between our offensive and defensive capabilities, resulting in a more formidable team to face.
In contrast to this, Spurs will have to do without defenders– Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie as they have injuries just before the Wolverhampton Wanderers face-off. Porro has a pull which he probably has picked up in training and we will have to go about without him for a couple of weeks.

Udogie should be ready for Tottenham’s next game against Crystal Palace in two weeks despite getting injured. One thing apart from Spurs’ excellent form throughout the season there’s another constant thing and that is “injury”. Postecoglou’s team always seems to struggle with injuries. There have been standout performances that have been crucial, but additional options are still required. Bentancur’s contribution to the match will surely give us an extra edge, and we aim to avenge the struggling Wolves team on our home turf.
