Tottenham Hotspur must fork out £60m for Wolves winger Pedro Neto who is also wanted by Arsenal
According to The Standard, Tottenham Hotspur now know the asking price for Wolves winger Pedro Neto who is also wanted by the local rivals Arsenal.
Last summer’s sale of big names like Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes have significantly improved the financial muscle of the Midlands club in terms of the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, giving them an edge in further negotiations.
Arteta is reportedly keen on Neto, and Arsenal may take a proactive approach in the market this summer to secure a forward for the team, especially after their strong performances in recent weeks. Neto, who has showcased his quality with impressive displays against the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea, is likely to attract interest from top teams in England. Meanwhile, the Spurs manager has identified Neto as a transfer target to bolster the team in the upcoming summer window.
Any of the new players should be able to be quick learners and get used to the style of play. It seems that the transfer of Neto by Tottenham Hotspur might depend on whether they activate the £15m purchase option for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig or not. Either way, there is no reason for us to miss out on a player who could develop into a game changer for years to come.
Despite minimal investment and predictions of relegation, Wolves have been remarkably outstanding under new management. Neto has been instrumental to their success, contributing three goals and an impressive ten assists in 18 appearances during the 2023/24 season.
If Tottenham need any further reminders of his quality, all they need to do is look at his performance in today’s 2-1 win over them at home. Neto was a handful all night and could easily have gotten his name on the scoresheet had it not been for some excellent last-ditch defending by Spurs.
