Former Manchester United player Dwight Yorke urges United to sign Tottenham captain Heung-min Son
Ex-Manchester United player Dwight Yorke suggests Tottenham’s captain Heung-min Son should be one of the two primary targets for United in the summer window, per Gambling Zone (h/t Metro). Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong is the other player. He says:
“I think we need a number nine, somebody up there with a little bit more Premier League experience and a good player like Son for me would be brilliant.”
The former Premier League was quick to highlight that Son isn’t someone like Harry Kane but is capable of bringing in goals. He turned his attention to the Barcelona midfielder who is rumoured to leave the Catalans after the end of the season.
Yorke believes de Jong will be a fine addition to the United midfield. He added that Frenkie de Jong can also be a mentor to Man United’s up-and-coming star Mainoo. Erik ten Hag’s team have stepped up in 2024 and are still unbeaten. A few good signings will help them register a strong start the next season.
The unrea’SON’able wish
Dwight Yorke played for Manchester United between 1998 and 2002. He was instrumental in helping the club secure the treble in 1998–99. He has many reasons to think well for his former club, which is struggling right now.
However, hoping ten Hag to sign Tottenham’s most-priced possession is a bit far-fetched. Sonny is arguably the most important player within the Spurs camp right now. Harry Kane’s departure has added more responsibility and value to his name.
There is no way Daniel Levy or Postecoglou would let him go. On the other hand, the fans might worry that Heung-min Son to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Harry Kane. Kane switched sides to Bayern Munich with the hopes of winning trophies.
