Tottenham representatives were spotted in Denmark for reportedly scouting purpose
Tottenham Hotspur‘s recruitment team might have a peculiar interest in Denmark after the club’s representatives were spotted in the Brondby stadium. Danish media outlet Bold reported the presence of representatives from top European clubs apart from Spurs in the stands during the Superliga game.
The game that featured home team Brondby versus visitors FC Midtjylland saw scouts from Bayern Munich, Inter, Tottenham, Ajax, Atalanta, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Hamburger SV and Feyenoord. The match ended in a 1-0 win for the home team.
Tottenham are among the clubs keen to tap into the Scandinavian market for prodigies. They have already secured Lucas Bergvall from Swedish club Djurgarden. There are also reports about the Lilywhites pursuing another player from Sweden, Hammarby’s Viktor Djukanovic.
Scandinavia has no shortage of talent. Erling Haaland, Martin Odegaard, Dejan Kulusevski, Alexander Isak, Rasmus Hojlund and many more are prominent players in the Premier League from Nordic countries. Scouts from top European clubs can pick their players for an absolute bargain.
Less money, more talent
Ange Postecoglou is in the team-building process. Many newcomers and youngsters have performed impressively under the Aussie head coach. Nursing young players from outside the academy and turning them into first-team players is not a usual occurrence at Tottenham.
However, Ange seems to be inclined towards this practice. During January, he was linked with several youngsters including, Roony Bardghji, Antonio Nusa, Jota, Matias Soule, Samuel Iling-Junior, Sebastian Szymanski, Semih Kilicsoy and Arthur Vermeeren.
This highlights the former Celtic manager’s long-term plans. He has no interest in splashing cash like his competitors or most predecessors. The Swedish, Danish and Norwegian leagues have prodigies available for less price tag.
