Tottenham Hotspur also looking for James Garner of Everton as an alternative for Conor Gallagher in the summer
According to the Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur might go for the Everton player James Garner as an alternative for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in the summer.
This January transfer window has been a very busy one for Tottenham Hotspur with many new players being brought in. Timo Werner joined on loan with an obligation to buy in future, while Radu Dragusin joined from Genoa permanently. Postecoglou still thinks of adding more quality to the team as he has set his high hopes of winning a silverware with this team. Looking at the team’s determination, we can anticipate that we can do so in the near future.
This season, the England Under-21 player has showcased his versatility by featuring on various positions for Everton, including both flanks, holding midfield, and more like a box-to-box role.
Sean Dyche’s club will be dealing with the problem of retaining James Garner next transfer window amid expected relegation to the Championship. This season 2023/24 has witnessed him starting in 22 out of 31 games played in the Premier League, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Everton invested in the player upon acquiring him in 2022 and are now aiming to generate a significant return on that investment. It will be interesting to note if Tottenham can agree on a fair value for the player.

Garner has developed into an important member of Everton and will certainly be one of the top players to be signed in the coming transfer window, especially if they get relegated. They are fighting at the moment and, obviously, want to keep their place in the Premier League. We on the other hand, also need to focus on our goals like getting our hands on a talented and experienced player and this is why Garner seems to have emerged as a possible option.
Yet, it is indeed known that he has played at a club like Manchester United and he knows how to handle stress. The fact that he has an overview of the strengths and weaknesses of the league is a great help to us. Nevertheless, the waiting is not over yet until the next summer transfer window comes, and we look whether this deal is on the table at that time or not.
