FC Barcelona are looking to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Raphinha in the summer
According to The Athletic [subscription required], Spanish giants FC Barcelona are expected to sell Raphinha in the summer transfer window amidst interest from Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur.
The Brazilian’s signing was a significant investment for Barca, costing nearly €60 million and tying him to the Nou Camp until the summer of 2027. Throughout his (almost) two seasons, Raphinha has participated in 72 matches, netting 14 goals and contributing 19 assists. His statistics are not bad, but his lack of consistency has left many feeling frustrated.
Lamine Yamal’s emergence this season has posed a challenge to Raphinha’s prospects of securing a spot in the starting lineup. Barcelona now faces three choices regarding Raphinha: shifting him to the left, retaining him as a substitute, or selling him in the upcoming transfer window. The aforementioned source suggests that the club is inclined towards selling the Brazilian player.
Raphinha’s time at Barca has been underwhelming, and a summer transfer wouldn’t be unexpected. Given his outstanding performances at Leeds United, he is sure to attract interest from several English teams. Tottenham are in need of additional quality on the wings and currently does not have a player who stands out in one-on-one situations.
Overall, we are in need of a new wide attacker and a striker to fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure last summer. Meanwhile, Tottenham is eyeing a potential move for Conor Gallagher, but facing obstacles due to his current club being Chelsea.
Having experienced a combination of inconsistent performances and injuries during his time under Xavi Hernandez, Raphinha’s potential transfer might complement De Jong’s situation. Barcelona needs finances now, and the sale of Raphinha can help them profit, especially if he decides to return to the Premier League.

In our opinion, Raphinha could provide Tottenham with a comparable option to Dejan Kulusevski, and the club might benefit from also pursuing a player like Pedro Neto. Landing two players of such calibre will certainly aid Ange Postecoglou in building a squad that has both quality and strength in depth to spare.
