David James believes Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou to be a potential Liverpool boss
Premier League and Liverpool legend David James believes Ange Postecoglou to be the right replacement for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. The retired goalkeeper was talking to the popular gaming website GGRecon. He says:
“I’m really sure that Liverpool would have a list of three or four candidates. I know that Ange Postecoglou is a name that’s being mooted at the moment.”
James has played 277 games for Liverpool across all competitions. The 53-year-old got up and personal while talking about the transition of his former club. The Englishman emphasized Tottenham’s change under their new manager.
He further added if not for injuries, Spurs would have been up there fighting for the Premier League title. David James also shed light on an important aspect concerning the players’ mindset at Tottenham versus rivals Aston Villa.
The duo are fighting for the fourth spot in the league table and securing the Champions League spot. Unai Emery’s men are the surprise performers this season.
Dissecting the Spurs mindset
According to David James, Tottenham Hotspur players are pondering about their manager’s exit and the potential Liverpool job. Popular media outlet Daily Telegraph revealed that the Lilywhites manager has no intention of leaving North London.
However, that shouldn’t be enough for conviction. The fans and the players are enduring fine football for the first time in many years. The club has transformed itself into a force to be reckoned with under their new boss.
Because Liverpool is a bigger club by miles and Ange’s chances to secure a trophy are easier with the Merseysiders, there is certainly room for worries about his exit.
