Udogie says fans are the secret behind Tottenham Hotspur’s electrifying home games
Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie says the fans are responsible for the electric atmosphere at home. Udogie, alongside Guglielmo Vicario, was answering fans’ comments on social media as shared by the club’s official YouTube handle.
A fan asked the duo, “The atmosphere at the club is incredible at the moment. I wonder what the secret is?”. Destiny Udogie was the one to respond by saying, “The fans, the joy, the happiness they bring to the stadium every game, it helps us a lot.”
Tottenham bid farewell to their long-term home White Hart Lane to welcome the newer, better and bigger stadium. With a capacity of 62,850, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can house twice the spectators compared to the previous one. No wonder why Tottenham play with the backing of enthusiastic chants at home.
The stadium is also the third-largest in England after Wembley and Old Trafford. It is the biggest in London. The venue can accommodate more fans than ever, helping the home team have an electrifying environment as asked by that one fan.
The noisy homes in England
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s capacity helps them add more noise during home games. However, this is not the only loudest stadium in England. Liverpool’s Anfield is said to be the loudest stadium in England and around the world.
With a little over 61,000 seats, Anfield is often a nightmare for the away teams. The fans are famous for their loud chants for the home side and the taunts for the visitors. Their Merseyside rivals Everton are right behind when it comes to creating an electrifying environment.
SPORTbible named Goodison Park as the loudest stadium in England alongside Anfield. Selhurst Park (Crystal Palace) and St. James’ Park (Newcastle United) followed the Merseysiders. Old Trafford was ranked 5th.
