Tottenham Hotspur will need to fork out a king’s ransom to land Wolves star Pedro Neto
Leading journo Ben Jacobs says Woles star Pedro Neto‘s admirers, including Tottenham, will have to shell out ‘record-breaking’ money while speaking to GiveMeSport. It is learned that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in the Wolves winger as well. The reputed journalist said:
“Both of the north London clubs will also be well aware that Wolves – because he is still well contracted – will be looking for a club-record sale.”
The Evening Standard reported the star’s price to be £60 million. Wolves have made fine business out of player sales lately. They cashed in on Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota in the last few seasons.
Considering Pedro Neto to be the biggest name in the Wolves squad arguably, it is no surprise that the Molineux residents want him to be their most expensive outbound transfer. Despite being marred with injuries, the Portuguese winger has displayed a fine performance. He has three goals and 11 assists for the club in all competitions.
The urgency at North London
Arsenal and Tottenham are on the lookout for a winger. Spurs need it more than their arch-rivals, considering the present situation. The Lilywhites have invested their trust in loanee Timo Werner, whose future at the club is uncertain.
Pedro Neto is a playmaker keen on assists, as his stats show. This sits right with the former Celtic Boss’ attacking strategies. The only issue would be finding a new role for Dejan Kulusevski. The former Juventus man has been instrumental for Ange this season.
As for Arteta, he will not sacrifice Bukayo Saka to allow Neto to continue with his predominant position. That leaves Martinelli under the axe on the other wing. Arsenal also has a performance advantage over Spurs, should that be a deciding factor for Pedro Neto.
