Steve Nash appreciates Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou’s character and attitude towards his players

Former NBA player and coach and a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur fan Steve Nash lauds Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou‘s character while speaking to Dejan Kulusevski. Tottenham shared a fun segment with the duo in conversation on their YouTube channel.

During the conversation, Kulusevski asked Nash – Do you think it is different being a football coach than a basketball coach? To which Nash responded:

I think a lot of things are really similar. You try and coach the human being, you want to connect with the player, understand what makes them feel confident, feel safe. I really love how the boss (Ange Postecoglou) has been saying, the pressure is on me. I take the responsibility”.

Nash feels Postecoglou deserves all the credit for pushing his team beyond the boundaries and helping them to be confident about themselves. He also appreciated the risk taken by Tottenham players despite the level of football they are in.

The ‘Ange’ effect

Ange Postecoglou was handed a Spurs team without Harry Kane. Losing their most prolific goal-scorer should have dented their goal-scoring abilities but what happened was exactly the opposite.

Under their new boss, the Lilywhites went on to become one of the most lethal attacking units in the Premier League this season. They registered a strong start, something the fans did not see in modern history, under Postecoglou.

They cruised the first 10 Premier League games without tasting defeat and topped the league. The team lost their pinnacle position only due to injury woes and suspensions. The North London outfits are confident about securing the fourth place.
