Tottenham star Destiny Udogie receives support from his teammate upon returning from injury
Tottenham Hotspur wingback Destiny Udogie marked his return from the injury and earned appreciation from his teammate on Instagram. The star took it to the social media platform to celebrate the victory. He said: No place like home.🤍 #blessed🙏🏾
Dane Scarlett was quick to comment: “Back.“, citing Udogie’s return to the team after a minor setback. Udogie has been crucial for Ange Postecoglou throughout the season. However, the 21-year-old sustained a knee injury that sidelined him for two weeks.
Spurs lost during his absence against Wolves. Thankfully the Chelsea clash in the following week was postponed due to the Blues’ EFL final commitments. Udogie marked his return against Crystal Palace and helped his team secure a comeback victory.
The Italian defender has barely missed a game this season. He was out in four games with two due to injury and the other two due to suspensions. Udogie’s presence is important for Ange for the remainder of the season.
The importance of fitness in the Spurs camp
Injuries have hurt Tottenham’s campaign massively this season. The most significant and unfortunate additions to the list lately were Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie. The pacey wingbacks were dearly missed in the Wolves clash where Spurs lost 1-2.
Udogie’s return boosted Ange’s side, helping the club win against Palace after trailing initially. Pedro Porro’s position was graced by Emerson Royal, who did a fine job. Ryan Sessegnon remains on the injury list alongside Richarlison and Manor Solomon.
With 12 matches left for the curtain fall, Tottenham rely heavily on their players’ fitness. The Lilywhites are battling it out with Aston Villa for the fourth position on the table. Unai Emery’s men currently lead the race with a five-point difference.
