Fabrizio Romano hints at the presence of an admirer of Pedro Neto at Spurs
Transfer world’s leading journalist Fabrizio Romano says Pedro Neto has a ‘huge fan’ at Tottenham in his The Here We Go Podcast podcast. The Italian journo has yet to reveal who the individual is and has left it open to interpretation.
While the Tottenham fans can keep speculating about who is ‘the fan’ of the Wolves winger, there might be a ‘here we go’ update from the man himself. Spurs fans can only hope it will be their club to have landed the deal.
Pedro Neto has been sensational this season despite enduring a series of unfortunate injuries this season and in the recent past. The Portuguese winger has collected eleven assists and three goals across all competitions for the club.
The numbers emphasize Neto’s ability in playmaking, something that the Tottenham Hotspur head coach needs dearly. Neto has been on the radar for Arsenal and also Liverpool. This means, chasing their target won’t be an easy task for the Lilywhites.
What can be done?
Tottenham faces competition mainly from Mikel Arteta, who has been a long-time admirer of the Portuguese international. The Gunners boss needs the versatile forward to add competition for Bukayo Saka and/or Gabriel Martinelli.
Arsenal are favourites to the title this season apart from the leaders, Liverpool. Tottenham is growing under Ange Postecoglou’s guidance but that might not be enough for the club to bring Neto to Tottenham Hotspur Way.
The north Londoners are in a battle of their own with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa for the fourth spot on the league table. A Champions League spot in the next season could be a deal-breaker for Pedro Neto, who has never featured in Europe’s most coveted competition before.
