Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou says there is more to come from Timo Werner
Ahead of the Premier League, Ange Postecoglou opened up about numerous topics and an important topic in this conversation became how impressed Ange is with the new transfer Timo Werner.
While no one is sure whether the German footballer will be made an important permanent member of Spurs, Postecoglou has been hinting at how pleased he is with his performance, which leaves much room for speculation.
Ange Postecoglou has been saying that there is more to be expected from Timo Werner in the coming months because he works hard during practice and his performance is seeing massive improvement. Moreover, he is a mature player and has made an impact on Tottenham’s performance.
He came in to help with the burden of other players like Johnson and Kulusevski after Sonny was away. Further, he has proven that he is a seasoned player. Werner took on a huge responsibility for Tottenham. Recently, he has been at his personal best for the team. His performance and goals have been getting better, if not marvellous.
Would signing Timo Werner be a good decision?
Speaking about the situation as quoted by Football London, here is what Postecoglou had to say about Timo Werner
“I do think there’s more to come from him for sure. He’s working hard in training. I think his performances are improving. I thought last week was probably his best performance, aside from his goal, I thought it was his best performance for us. That’s great for us. It’s also helped guys like Brennan Johnson and Kulusevski and others, like I said, the burden would have been pretty big on those guys if we hadn’t brought Timo in.”
It is evident that signing Timo Werner permanently would be a very smart piece of business. The number of injuries seen by the club in the last few months has been unprecedented and Werner has proven to be an asset to the team in those trying times.
With many important players being sidelined, it only makes sense for Werner to remain. He is not only fast but also offers a dynamic game to Postecoglou thanks to his work rate.
