Bryan Gil might be in hot water with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou
Bryan Gil is fast getting dubbed as the outcast for Tottenham. Having struggled with minutes this season, he believes that there is a lack of trust from Ange Postecoglou. This is according to the Express.
Gil has started only two Premier League matches this season and in the match against Manchester City, he was brought off at half-time. He lost the ball nearly six times in 45 minutes, but the treatment seemed a little harsh at the moment.
Additionally, he has not started a match since that game. Bryan has also only been on field for 221 minutes all season. This is less than Antonio Conte last term, even though he was out on loan for most part. He rejoined Sevilla on loan for the second half of the season. Now, he has been feeling mistrusted by Postecoglou.
Gil also, reportedly, wants to prove himself to the club which is why he has remained so far. He says that he is tired of going out on loan. He had earlier played for Valencia on loan, after which he joined Spurs. This paved way for the Sevilla stunt this year.
Could this spell out a parting of ways?
Despite returning to Spurs this summer, Gil has been unable to convince the club of his commitment to them. Moreover, he also feels a growing mistrust between him and Postecoglou due to lack of playing time. This could mean a departure soon since his contract ends in 2026.
Gil’s preference for Sevilla has also been apparent when he made the return. Fourteen months ago, he called it the club of his life and it was obvious that his game was much better there as compared to Spurs. The player also seems eager to return to La Liga.
