Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski talks about manager Ange Postecoglou
As we all very well know by this point, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is more about instilling a culture first and then talking results. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t give value to results, but a stable environment at the club along with a stable style of play will eventually bring with it more wins than before. Dejan Kulusevski recently spoke about the same as well.
In ‘A Letter to Spurs Fans’ by Deki on The Players’ Tribunal, here is what the 23-year-old Swede international had to say:
But we are also a young team with many new players. We’re not gonna win every game. And actually, Ange never speaks about trophies. He says, “Yes, we’ll get there, but first of all we have to become us. We have to find ourselves.”
To know the difference between a young team with good management and not-so-good management, we do not even have to step outside the confines of London. Chelsea are a good example of a team full of great players, but considering the phase of transition they are in, results for them are hard to come by. Focusing on short-term goals instead of long-term stability will ensure nothing comes one’s way.
Finding Ourselves
On the contrary, we have our Lilywhites under Ange Postecoglou. The Greek-Australian tactician focuses on instilling a culture within the club, working towards a common goal that is long-term stability. While we haven’t reached a cup final like Chelsea, one can argue that Tottenham’s performances over the course of the season have been better.
Finding ourselves, as Big Ange rightly points out, is the primary aim. We have to play to our strengths instead of playing for results. Once each and every player within the squad, including Kulusevski, finds their groove in the highest possible gear, silverware will be on its way to Hotspur Way.
Deki’s endorsement of Postecoglou’s vision underscores the growing sense of optimism and unity within the Tottenham camp. As players buy into the manager’s philosophy and embrace their roles within the team, a palpable sense of camaraderie and purpose emerges. This collective mindset bodes well for Spurs’ prospects on the field, as they continue to evolve and refine their style of play under Postecoglou’s guidance.
