On-loan Tottenham star Timo Werner linked with a move to Manchester United
Tottenham star Timo Werner, who’s here on loan from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig sees himself linked with a move to Manchester United. Ever since his return to Leipzig from Chelsea, the player was struggling for form, and the loan move to Hotspur Way in January brought along a sense of change for the player.
Werner has been top-class for manager Ange Postecoglou and there’s growing belief that Tottenham will trigger the clause to make the move for the 28-year-old German international permanent.
In eight appearances for Tottenham across all competitions, he has two goals and as many assists to boot. However, it is not the goal output that makes him a favourite for Ange. The desire to give it all out for the badge on the field, and his tremendous work rates, in both phases of play, make Werner so valued under Big Ange.
Timo Transfer to Tottenham Time?
However, as per a Fichajes report cited from Sky Germany, Werner has many English clubs interested in securing his services. Apart from Fulham and West Ham, Manchester United show interest in securing his services. Having recently got on board Rasmus Hojlund, the Red Devils probably aim to increase squad depth and make their side more competitive than they are at the moment.
Having said that, there are no concrete offers on the table from United so far. Tottenham would surely be wary of interest from other parties, and before any other parties jump in to make their claim, Spurs would have to trigger the release clause to secure his services.
Timo is a very versatile player as we all know. Primarily playing off the left for Spurs, he can also back Richarlison upfront.
Ultimately, Werner’s future remains uncertain as speculation continues to swirl. While Tottenham undoubtedly value his contributions, the allure of joining a club like Manchester United could prove tempting for the German forward.
