Tottenham goalie Guglielmo Vicario acknowledges fans after Fulham loss
A loss hurts the most when you are expected to win and put on a show, something that Tottenham failed to do against Fulham yesterday as Guglielmo Vicario acknowledges the dismal performance.
Spurs came into the game with ample confidence on the back of a 4-0 win against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa who are Tottenham’s direct competition for a top-four finish.
Tottenham Hotspur lost 3-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage as Spurs lost an opportunity to move into the top four in the Premier League. Rodrigo Muniz scored a brace to put Fulham on top complemented by Saša Lukić’s first goal for the club.
It was a disastrous performance from the whole squad as Spurs failed to make their mark in the game while Fulham were controlling the destinies of the ball in important spaces for the majority of the time despite the visitors boasting a better share of possession.
The loss against Fulham means that Tottenham remains in fifth place with 53 points, three points behind Aston Villa at fourth though Ange Postecoglou’s side have a game in hand.
Going into the final run-in of the season, all games are important and can change the fortune of the club for the next campaign which makes it important for teams to maximize their output on the business end.
Tottenham only have the Premier League to focus on going into the final part of the season and it would help their cause to achieve a probable Champions League qualification for the 2024/25 season.
Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario took to Instagram to acknowledge the fans and how they deserve better performances from the team. He wrote, “Not much to say, today we were not good enough. You deserve better from us. We will be back 🤍.”
