Guglielmo Vicario joins Italy for Pre-Euro 2024 friendlies in the USA
Guglielmo Vicario has joined the Italian National Team in the United States of America ahead of the upcoming friendlies in the March 2024 international break. Vicario’s club teammate Destiny Udogie also accompanies him to Gli Azzurri’s camp.
La Nazionale will play a couple of friendlies in the States as the final part of their preparations before they head to this summer’s Euro 2024 finals.
Italy are scheduled to face Venezuela in a 9 pm UK kick-off on Thursday 21 March at Inter Miami’s Chase Stadium in Florida followed by a friendly against Ecuador which will be a 8 pm kick-off in the UK at New York Red Bulls’ Red Bull Arena on Sunday 24 March.
Guglielmo Vicario has been influential for Tottenham this season but is yet to make his national team debut with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma being an undisputed number one for Italy. The 27-year-old has been an unused substitute for Italy in 10 of their last 14 games.
It would be an excellent opportunity to be around Gianluigi Donnarumma and learn from him for Vicario when he is travelling with Italy despite not getting any opportunities to play for them. Generally, the goalkeeper union is always tight irrespective of who plays, and it looks like it’s the same with Italy as well.
Guglielmo Vicario expressed his delight, about being back wearing the Italian colours and training with Donnarumma, on his Instagram handle with Italy flag and Blue Heart emoji.
Vicario is a perfect habiliment of the modern generation of goalkeepers who are splendid with their feet as much as their hands. The 27-year-old has hardly had a game since moving to N17 where he gets fazed by the opponent’s counter-press.
