Tottenham Hotspur have a major advantage over Aston Villa claims a pundit.
Both Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are neck and neck in the Premier League. In fact, the race for the title is also being closely contested this season. Arsenal are currently on top, only ahead of Liverpool due to goal difference. Meanwhile, Man City are in third and only needs one point to catch up.
Below the three, the Villans and the Lilywhites are fighting it out for a top-four spot. Both teams are fighting to make it to UCL next season. However, Dan Goodman claims that Tottenham have a huge advantage over Villa.
The Spurs are only playing in the Premier League following their early exit from domestic and European competitions. So, they’ll be playing fewer games than Aston Villa and will be able to put their full focus on making it to the top four.
Here’s what Goodman had to say about the race between the two clubs. (h/t Aston Villa News)
“By the time Spurs finish their season, they’d have played 41 games.”
“So Aston Villa, if they advance in Europe and do well, they can play up to 57 games. The difference between that and 41 games is massive.
Goodman added that we’ve already seen Tottenham punish their opposition due to their fatigue. While most top teams are playing in more than one tournament the Spurs’ full focus has been on the Premier League.
The Lilywhites will soon be taking on Chelsea, Arsenal and Pep Guardiola‘s Man City in the PL. So, they will undoubtedly be playing a big role in deciding the race for the Premier League title this season.
