Guglielmo Vicario explains that he joined Tottenham Hotspur for Ange Postecoglou
Guglielmo Vicario has been at the top of his game as Tottenham Hotspur’s star goalkeeper this season. With such a high success rate, he has fit into the club very well after Hugo Lloris’ exit. According to Alasdair Gold for Football London, Vicario has been very happy with his decision to join Tottenham.
Many factors contributed to this decision, but what is more important is the comfort he feels now within the team. His friendship with Micky van de Ven is pretty evident in this regard. He has also struck up camaraderie with Destiny, Cuti and Rodrigo, but Micky is his best friend.
Vicario speaks of how they talk off-pitch and are good for each other. However, the most interesting camaraderie that he has spoken of publicly, is the one with manager Ange Postecoglou. The entire team has been extremely happy with Postecoglou and are not afraid to make declarations about the same.
Vicario believes that the team will thrive under Postecoglou. This is not only because he is a great coach, but also because of how tight-knit the players are.
Additionally, the players are all young. They have a long journey to cover together, and if they do that with loyalty, the team will succeed.
In speaking of Ange, Vicario also reminisced about the time when the transfer call was being made for him. While he had been doubtful earlier, all of that changed when he saw the passion and zeal in Postecoglou.
“Ange called me and it was a very good call, because he knew everything about me, about my past and my style of play and about my character, because he said a very important and proud thing for me, that ‘both of us, we started from the bottom and we went over all of the hurdles in our life and career’,”
