Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou in consideration to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United
According to ESPN, Erik ten Hag believes he can continue at Manchester United under Sir Jim Ratcliffe. However, sources suggest that he will be sacked by the summer because of two consecutively bad seasons for United. Even though a final decision has not been made, Ten Hag is under immense pressure.
The Dutch coach believes that he can work his magic for some more time at Old Trafford. It will definitely be beneficial for the Red Devils if he can turn things around by the end of the campaign. The season has not been the best for United, but he has been involved in planning the transfer window.
This uncertainty is warranted by Ten Hag, as Ratcliffe and his team mull over whether a managerial shift is required. INEOS director of sport says that other coaches are being looked at in case a new head coach is brought in. This would spell the end of Erik ten Hag’s tenure at United, according to The Daily Express.
Amidst these rumours, Ratcliffe is set to be ambitious. Additionally, he is monitoring many high-end names. A move for Ange Postecoglou seems to be on the cards despite beginning at Tottenham only recently. It is hard to decipher the truth behind this, but it certainly has not been ruled out as a possibility.
Is this the right move for Postecoglou?
Ange Postecoglou’s shift might not be in anyone’s best interest at the moment. Tottenham has been thriving under the coach, and the recent shift is one that only Postecoglou understands. His strategies have proven to be very beneficial for the North Londoners overall.
He has even gotten us playing into his system already, something Ten Hag is yet to do in a little under two years at Old Trafford. As a Liverpool fan, it would be curious if Ange will indeed make a beeline for United. We hope he doesn’t’
Ange himself has reached a professional peak with Spurs. To risk that all for a tenure at United would be a mistake. He gets along well with his players and is garnering immense praise for his work. Ange and Tottenham both complement each other. Further, he has also been involved in the transfer strategy and has barely spent enough time at Tottenham.
Moreover, most players find themselves attached to Postecoglou already. They have signed many players by expressing how wonderful it is to work under him. To risk transfers by letting him go would be tarnishing Spurs’ reputation to a great extent.

It would thus not be wise to let Ange Postecoglou join United, though it is no secret why United wants him. Only time will tell whether Erik ten Hag’s tenure at United will end and whether that spot will be taken by Ange. However, it is not likely that the latter will leave Tottenham so soon.
