Tottenham star Brennan Johnson posts on Instagram for Wales fans
Brennan Johnson and his entry to Tottenham took everyone by shock. The forward’s move to Tottenham Hotspur had caused major issues for Nottingham Forest but it could still mean big things for both his new club and his country. He is an exceptional player and it is not a mystery why he is called ‘Player A’.
The 22-year-old was Spurs’ top target for a new forward this summer. The Wales international star then became Tottenham’s ninth summer signing. Ange Postecoglou believes Johnson’s profile is ideal for the way they play. He would ideally provide valuable depth to the way Tottenham’s games would go.
Recently, Euro 2024 play-off finals saw a crushing defeat for Wales. Fans are feeling distraught after that defeat. They saw an agonising penalty defeat and will have to watch the league from home wondering about what could have been. Poland will instead be taking their place with teams like Netherlands, Austria and France to play the matches.
Wales had never had the experience of going to penalties before. Therefore, it is understandable why the team had to be vanquished. The young squad found it difficult to grapple with such a high-pressure situation. Moreover, they also did not know how to approach the situation once they started losing confidence in their ability for the league.
What next for Wales?
However, fans have always relentlessly supported their teams. It almost seems as if Wales fans connect their national pride with the football team. Amidst all this, Bren Johnson felt it was necessary to thank the fans who truly pour their heart and soul into the matches that they watch, and also for the support they bring.
Bren Johnson then took to Instagram to post a message for Wales fans. The post said “Thanks for all the support. See you next year.” which displayed that the young player is confident that the team will have a more prolific win next year wherein fans will get what they want.
Wales has always been a country that has found contestation over nation-building. Recent studies have shown that the place finds some comfort in football. They take as much pride in their football team as they do in language and culture. Thus, one can know that the Welsh fans took Bren Johnson’s message to heart. In fact, many fans have also come out to admit that “They will always support the team, no matter what.” as reported by BBC
