Tottenham Hotspur earned themselves a massive tally of three points on board following their win over Luton Town at the weekend.

Spurs were dealt crummy cards when former Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong’s goal ensured they started the game trailing. Though the test of a good player is when he buys his way out of a lousy deck, that’s exactly what Ange Postecoglou’s side did as they backed the dreadful first-half performance with an energetic and enormous second-half to score two and get all three points.

Tottenham’s half-time substitute Brennan Johnson’s cross across the Luton defense was met by Issa Kabore, who inadvertently pushed the ball into his own net, and the scores were level at 1-1 in the 51st minute. Spurs’ skipper Son Heung-Min turned hero in the dying minutes as he scored the winner in the eighty-sixth.

It was a performance that tested the squad, but they met those tests with an impressive performance to get another three points on the Premier League table

While this may seem like just another normal post-game three-point story, there is a deep importance to these three points in Tottenham’s season. Spurs are entangled in a battle with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa for a traditional top-four finish, and each point here forth will be of extreme importance if the Lilywhites are looking to qualify for the UEFA Champions League campaign for the 2024–25 season.
