Radu Dragusin is here to stay at Tottenham Hotspur
Recently, Tottenham Hotspur faced a crushing defeat against Fulham and a lot of people did come after Romanian footballer Radu Dragusin after that match. While he was not the one to shoulder the blame for the defeat alone, he did get the short end of the stick. Speculation thus began of his exit from Tottenham.
This made for interesting news. That was because he was on Tottenham’s radar for a while, with Ange Postecoglou desperate to recruit a new centre-back. Dragusin came as Spurs’ saving grace with a timely recruit during the January transfer window.
The Romanian international was key in his former club’s promotion to Serie A and made 22 appearances this season before his move to Tottenham. Fabrizio Romano has shared some quotes by Postecoglou on Dragusin’s future.
Ange Postecoglou’s verdict on Dragusin
Ange Postecoglou seems sure that he has made the right decision. When multiple teams were interested in Dragusin, he chose to move to Tottenham.
Moreover, Ange seems to be happy with the 22-year-old player because he is “working hard”. From his performance during training, one can say that he is adapting. While moving to big clubs is always hard, Dragusin seems to be on the right track when it comes to taking the game more seriously.
The Tottenham coach has not shied away from declaring confidence in his decision and has said that:
“He didn’t come to play one game. I don’t think against Fulham he was any better or worse than anyone else”. We signed Radu because we see a player who can contribute in there. He’s ready, he’s available, he’s part of our future”.
