Following Tottenham Hotspur’s game against West Ham in the midweek, South Korean forward Son Heung-min became just the fourteenth player in the club’s history to reach that four-hundred mark in terms of appearances.

The 31-year-old is tied to the North Londoners and its history for eternity. In a matter of days, Tottenham’s skipper put his name in the club’s history books. He became the top five goal scorer in Tottenham Hotspur’s history following his goal against Luton Town, and now he has reached another milestone at the club.

Opening up the books of history, Steve Perryman leads the baton with the most appearances for the Spurs, with 854 appearances to his name. Followed by Perryman, there are two of Son Heung-min’s former team-mates alongside him, as now LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is in seventh place, having made 447 appearances for Tottenham, while the club’s all-time goalscorer accompanies them with 435 appearances wearing the Lilywhites badge.

The South Korean recently celebrated his 400th appearance for the club.

How could you not love Son Heung-min? When the ball is at his feet, there are open possibilities and Spurs faithful skip a heartbeat every time he starts dribbling in open spaces. The former Bayern Leverkusen ace is the hope and dream of Tottenham Hotspur fans around the globe.

While we know fans appreciate him impeccably, in a recent video published on Instagram by Tottenham Hotspur’s official account, they asked the current squad players to describe their skipper in one word, and the responses ranged from “leader” to “inspiring,” highlighting the immense respect that his teammates hold for him.

Destiny Udogie described him as a legend; Pedro Porro went with God; Richarlison brought some Brazilian spice to it with Ronaldinho; Radu Dragusin went with inspiring; and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg came up with great. Ben Davies, who has been a teammate to Son for a while, and Tottenham’s summer signing Vicario said Leader.
