Chelsea’s potential £24 million windfall depends on Spurs performances against Newcastle.
Chelsea are bagging on Tottenham Hotspur for a hefty pay-out cheque this weekend as the North Londoners face Newcastle United at St. James Park on Saturday.
The Blues could get a guaranteed £24 million windfall by the end of this week, per Express, if Spurs were to do them a quick favour. The West Londoners could conclude a deal to sell Lewis Hall on a permanent move to Newcastle United before the window opens.
The Chelsea academy graduate moved down the Tyneside on a loan move last year; however, the 19-year-old has struggled to get minutes at St. James Park. He has only aggregated eleven appearances in the ongoing season.
The initial deal that saw Lewis Hall move to Newcastle included an obligation to buy at the conclusion of his loan spell. However, that clause will only take effect if Eddie Howe’s side finishes 15th or higher in the Premier League table this season.
The Toons could all but guarantee a finish in the top fifteen of the Premiership if they were to get the better of Ange Postecoglou’s side at the weekend. By doing so, that would also trigger their option to sign Lewis Hall on a permanent deal, and that potential transfer is worth £24 million, which the Blues will acquire for reliving his signatures.

Chelsea are looking at a potential PSR situation going into the summer after spending billions of dollars on transfers since Todd Boehly took charge of the club. Any potential transfer would prove advantageous to secure the transfer fee that could potentially help them comply with PSR Rules.
For Tottenham Hotspur, the game at the weekend would help them solidify their top-four spot as we walk into the business end of the season, and if that amounts to a delay in Chelsea’s virtue, the better.
