Is Timo Werner preparing to be with Tottenham long-term?
Earlier in January, Tottenham Hotspurs finalised a loan deal with RB Leipzig for the all-rounder and striker Timo Werner. This transaction also included an option for a permanent transfer. There is much to consider for the summer transfer window as far as Werner and his permanent transfer are concerned.
As Tottenham try to look for a striker, they must not forget the bargain price that they can get the German for. Timo Werner is a player that Spurs should definitely not overlook. There is more than enough reason to think of him as a dark horse in the race to win the Premier League.
Further, the player also seems to be loving life at Tottenham. He has hinted that he is happy with Spurs and is thinking of a potential permanent move. Many news outlets, including The Telegraph, have quoted Werner. In these, he makes it known that he would like to stay with Spurs and has adjusted to life well there. He is shown saying:
“I’m enjoying it a lot. Playing with this team, these teammates, in this style, and in this stadium, I love it here!”

Is Tottenham going to benefit from the cut-price transfer?
Werner has undoubtedly been an asset to Tottenham ever since he made the temporary transfer. Even recently, Spurs’ 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in their latest Premier League fixture, Werner played a role in a goal, and shared his enthusiasm for playing at the North London outfit.
Timo Werner has evidently positively impacted Ange Postecoglou’s team. He also adjusted well to and understood the Australian coach’s team play. Werner has quickly established himself as a star and he consistently contributes to goals be it by starting games or coming off the bench. In 11 appearances, he has scored two goals and has three assists.
When asked about Werner as a player earlier this month, Ange Postecoglou did not shy away from admitting his love for the player. He has done so on multiple occasions and with good reason because the former Chelsea star has been nothing but good for Spurs.
“I think he’s been really important. You can only imagine if we didn’t bring him in in January, it would have been a much bigger burden on the other players in the group. Particularly when Sonny [Son Heung-min] was away as well. We threw him in straight away and when you come in in January, especially for someone like Timo, standing as a mature player, he’s not a young player we’ve brought in to develop, we’re bringing him in to make an impact, and I think he has made an impact for us. I do think there’s more to come from him for sure. He’s working hard in training. I think his performances are improving.”

As Spurs evaluate their choices, Werner’s smooth transition, aided by his prior Premier League experience, makes him a definite bargain signing. The team does need a winger, which Timo Werner can be. There is also the fact that he is suspiciously good at the game under Ange’s guidance.
Moreover, there is the fact that he covered for Manor Solomon’s injury. Harry Kane’s exit from the club at the same time was also hard on Spurs. However, Werner being there really helped the team get through. There should undoubtedly be more consideration given to making him permanent.
