Harry Kane vows to repeat Tottenham Hotspur feat with Bayern Munich
Tottenham Hotspur legend Harry Kane has drawn parallels between his current club, Bayern Munich, and his former team, as he expresses confidence in Bayern’s ability to overcome Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
The England international emphasized the pedigree and “togetherness” within the German giants, suggesting that these qualities could propel them to success at Wembley this season.
Kane drew on his experiences with Tottenham in 2019 to illustrate why Bayern could prevail over Arsenal in the second leg and make a deep run in the Champions League, aiming for the final on Saturday, June 1. Despite Bayern’s disappointing season, the 30-year-old has enjoyed a stellar campaign, netting 39 goals in all competitions. The Champions League represents Bayern’s last opportunity for silverware in the current campaign.
Harry Kane channels 2019 Tottenham spirit to fuel Bayern’s Champions League dream.
He asserts that there are no regrets about joining Bayern and is convinced that the experience in the squad will help them pull through and fight out the pressure situations. Kane previously reached the Champions League final with Tottenham in 2019, where we fell to Liverpool.
Harry Kane, speaking post-game (via. The Mirror), said:
“In the Champions League, we’ve done well, had a good campaign but we will need more of that if we want to go all the way to Wembley. Look, it’s a competition that the club wants to win. Not winning the Bundesliga this year is a tough pill to swallow and it makes this competition even more important but we know there’s still a long way to go.
“That campaign with Tottenham itself is similar because we weren’t having a great time in the league if I’m totally honest that year but we found some passion and togetherness in the Champions League.”
With all the chickens lined up, Bayern now only have the Champions League to play for. With all their eggs in one basket, it is safe to say that Bayern can go all out to put Arsenal in their place in the second leg. Tottenham or not, Kane could continue to be the Gunners’ bane.
