Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Bayer Leverkusen’s Hincapie as summer target
Tottenham Hotspur are potentially keeping close eyes on Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Piero Hincapie and his situation at the Bundesliga giants, as they are likely to redeem the 22-year-old to fund new transfers.
The Lilywhites turned to Germany last summer to strengthen their defensive line when they signed Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg. They could once again turn to the Bundesliga as they look at Hincapie.
As per Sport Bild via Sport Witness, Ecuador is a player that Spurs are tracking for the upcoming summer transfer window. He has the capacity to become an invaluable asset for the Lilywhites, with Xabi Alonso’s side willing to listen to offers, especially if Jonathan Tah is to stay at BayArena beyond the summer.
Double Cover? Tottenham look to Hincapie for defensive versatility
Leverkusen is enjoying an incredible season, with Xabi Alonso leading the charge for what could become an invincible season. They are still unbeaten in all competitions, and Die Schwarzroten could well win multiple competitions.
Any potential departure for Piero Hincapie in the summer is ‘not out of the question,’ per Bild, particularly if Tah continues his time at the club. Tottenham are now said to be ‘courting’ the 22-year-old. The Bundesliga leaders are likely to demand at least €40m’ (£34.2m) for the centre-back.

Hincapie would be a smart arrival at the club as he could potentially cover two positions in Micky van de Ven and Udogie while ascertaining there is no drop in quality. Especially with the injury problems that the Dutchman has had this season, the 22-year-old will be a perfect addition.
It is a huge summer window, and Tottenham would be looking to sign level-raisers, as the Ecuadorian international looks to be one of them.
