Spanish star Bryan Gil eyes escape from Tottenham Hotspur
Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur, and Dutch side Feyenoord have expressed interest in his signature.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently wrote about how the 23-year-old is not looking for a temporary move away from North London and would stay put at N17 if any move away weren’t to materialize.
The Spaniard has been having a difficult time since moving to England in the summer of 2021. Spurs signed him from Spanish side Sevilla in a deal worth £21.6 million, with Erik Lamela moving the other way.
When Spurs signed him, Bryan Gil had a reputation for being the brightest prospect in Spanish football, and his signing looked like a bargain for the North Londoners.
Following a series of loans back to Spain and only 42 appearances for the Lilywhites. There have been multiple players that have benefited from Tottenham’s progress under Ange Postecoglou, though a few of them haven’t gotten a run in for the side yet, and Gil is one of them.
He has only made 11 appearances in Tottenham colors this season, and just two of those were from the get-go. A former Sevilla man finds himself in the pecking order behind Timo Werner, who arrived on loan in January.
The North Londoners also have an option to sign the former Chelsea ace on a permanent move this summer. Daniel Levy & Co. are set to take a heavy loss in a possible Gil exit.
Dutch move beckons as Feyenoord eye deal for unsettled Tottenham star
With a move away from Tottenham on the cards, Feyenoord have already held talks with the 23-year-old, and a move to Ediversie is the most likely outcome for the Spaniard, per a Dutch outlet 1908.nl.
According to the rumors, the Dutch side has already made contact with Gil’s agency, with the Rotterdam club reportedly holding Gil in high regard. They are presenting him with a realistic proposal to move away from his Spurs nightmares.
