Maddison 2.0? Tottenham hope history repeats itself with Dewsbury-Hall transfer
Tottenham Hotspur can bring Leicester City star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to White Hart Lane this summer for an expected fee band of £30–40 million this summer, per Football Insider.
However, the 25-year-old will possibly not leave King Power Stadium if Leicester City are promoted back to the English top tier, according to Football Insider senior journalist Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.
Financial woes force Leicester sale?
Pete pronounced that Leicester City would be hoping to keep Dewsbury-Hall, although the financial concerns at the Foxes could force them into a sale.
As per estimates made by finance expert Kieran Maguire based on Leicester City’s 2022–23 Statement of Affairs, there are possibilities that Leicester City could lose points due to a £25–30 million violation of the Profit and Sustainability Rules. Based on those estimates, Pete O’Rourke said that Leicester could have to take a close look at a possible sale for their star midfielder if a sizeable bid were to come their way.
Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca fought hard to keep midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall at the club in January, and he would want to keep hold of him if the Foxes were to be promoted to the Premier League in the summer. The Premier League 2015-16 Champions kept hold of the 25-year-old despite interests from Brighton and Brentford. Below is a post from David Ornstein published in the winter window:
Tottenham signed James Maddison from Leicester City last summer, and they will be looking to leverage that relationship into another possible transfer this summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a fantastic prospect who has world-class potential. It is to be seen whether Leicester City are ready to sell if their financial interests are tapped. Though there will be a queue of potential suitors, especially if Enzo Maresca’s side is not able to be promoted to the Premier League.
