Tottenham boss Postecoglou hints at Oliver Skipp decision at the end of the season
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, in his press conference ahead of Spurs weekend fixture against Nottingham Forest, spoke about the future of Hotspur Way graduate Oliver Skipp while indicating that a decision on his future at N17 will be made in the off-season.
The 23-year-old has made only twenty appearances in the ongoing season, although he has barely accumulated 738 minutes under his belt. This is just 37 minutes per appearance on average under Ange Postecoglou, which would be frustrating, and considering his lack of opportunities, he would want to move away from North London.
Players like Pape Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur are ahead of the 23-year-old in the pecking order under the Australian gaffer.
Will Skipp skip out?
In response to a question asked in the pre-match press conference concerning Skipp’s playing time this season and potential role in his squad in the upcoming year, the Tottenham boss stated that any decision regarding the player’s future will be made at the conclusion of the ongoing campaign, while expressing his optimism that any result can help the team and the player.
He said (via Football.London):
“Again we’re quite comfortable in that situation as well. Decisions about individual players will all be made in the context of what’s good for the club and what’s good for the player and hopefully, there’s some sort of alignment there. Sometimes there isn’t.
“From our perspective, we’re comfortable that with the squad we have we’ll make decisions that are going to be beneficial for us in terms of our growth. A lot of those individual things about individual players won’t be made until post-season.”

Oliver Skipp is a homegrown talent, technically and literally, and he is someone loved by the supporters at White Hart Lane. It is difficult to see him leaving N17 as of now, although minutes under his belt from now to the end of the current campaign will play a huge role in determining his destiny at Spurs.
