Atalanta star emerges as a midfield upgrade option
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Serie A midfielder Ederson in the upcoming summer transfer window, per TEAMtalk.
The North Londoners seem to have midfield problems found out oflate, especially in their performance against Newcastle United at St. James Park at the weekend.
The 3-0 defeat against Marco Silva’s Fulham demonstrated a certain lack of bite at the heart of the park. The Cottagers exploited the Spurs lack of number six protecting the defensive line. That was followed by a dreadful performance against Newcastle.
This leaves Ange Postecoglou & Co. in the fifth position, fighting for a possible top-four finish while they look for positions to enhance in the midfield. The Lilywhites are in dire need of upgrades in the midfield with Football. London recently intends for number six to be a potential position of recruitment at N17 for the summer.
Ederson on the move? Strong season sparks transfer talk for Atalanta Midfielder
This is where Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who displayed his potential in the club’s 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield Stadium last week, comes in. The North Londoners have been subject to links with him for some time now, and the links have intensified since his performance against Jurgen Klopp’s side last week.
According to a report by Daniele Longo, his current employers have named the price for the 24-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Newcastle United. In recent months, Ederson has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Liverpool, and Juventus, alongside Newcastle United and Spurs.

In Ederson, Tottenham would be looking to replace Atletico Madrid-bound Pierre-Emerick Hojbjerg while also bringing depth into the midfield. Ange prefers to get an advantage over opponents by making line-breaking passes that generate transition-type scenarios for his front line, and Ederson can do a lot of good with his tactics.
