Dragusin not enough? Spurs set for another defensive addition in Tosin Adarabioyo

Will money talk? Fulham counter Spurs interest with improved contract offer for Adarabioyo

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo, per The Mirror, although the Cottagers are growing confident enough to keep hold of the 26-year-old beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.

The North Londoners are looking to acquire a new central defender in the summer, as Ange Postecoglou would like to increase the depth in the heart of the defense. Spurs did bring in Radu Dragusin in January from Genoa in a £26.7 million (€31 million) deal with the Italian club after the Romanian international chose to join the Lilywhites over Bayern Munich.

Though there is at least one new defender coming in at N17 this summer, perhaps two. Tosin Adarabioyo has been subject to links for a possible free transfer as his contract with Marco Silva’s side expires at the conclusion of the ongoing season.

While the Cottagers have been intending to extend his contract, no conclusion has been reached with the Manchester City academy graduate. Fulham did table a new contract offer last month with a significant pay rise on Adarabioyo’s current contract at Craven Cottage, although both parties couldn’t come to common terms.

Despite their efforts leading nowhere yet, Fulham is preparing a new contract offer to their star defender, and the Cottagers are ‘confident’ of coming on terms with the 26-year-old to retain his services, per allnigeriasoccer.com.

Alongside Tottenham Hotspur, the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, and AC Milan are interested in acquiring his services, unless Adarabioyo signs a new contract with his current employers.

Adarabioyo will also qualify as a homegrown player, which adds to the significance of his addition to the roster.

Although it remains to be seen who the North Londoners sign at center-back this summer, with multiple links and each subsequent link becoming more plausible than the previous one, it should be an interesting couple of months in the rumor mill.
