Tottenham midfield star Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set for summer exit
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is expected to leave the club at the conclusion of the ongoing season, in the 2024 summer transfer window.
Transfer Insider senior journalist Pete O’Rourke, speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, revealed that the Danish midfielder is “unhappy” with the playing time under his belt since Ange Postecoglou took charge of the club.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane for some time now, and it looks like his misery will finally be put to bed when the summer transfer window comes around. The North Londoners signed the 28-year-old in 2020 in a £15 million move from Southampton, though as of now it looks like his stay in the N17 is heading to a conclusion.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made 32 Premier League appearances this season, although he has started only six of those and accumulated only about a thousand minutes of Premiership football under his belt.
Making way for new arrivals? Hojbjerg’s exit to fund summer rebuild at Spurs
With his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium up in the summer of 2025, the officials at the club would be looking to move him on to ensure that Spurs don’t lose him on a free transfer.
Despite all the frustrations and lack of play time, the Dane has remained an absolute professional in how he has gone about himself. Every time he has the opportunity to be involved, he has done his best to move the ball around and progress the play.
