Spurs target Raphinha doesn't want Barca exit

Mystery bid rejected! Barcelona hold firm on Tottenham target Raphinha price

An unknown Premier League club has reportedly made a failed £51.2 million attempt to sign Barcelona for Tottenham Hotspur summer target Raphinha, per Sport.

The Brazilian winger has not been a regular name in Xavi Hernandez’s starting eleven at Camp Nou this season, and there have been reports about his potential departure from the Catalonia-based club this summer, given their financial situation complemented by a need to sell.

While Raphinha could be a sacrificial lamb for Barcelona this summer, potential courting by elite clubs has already begun for the former Leeds United winger’s services. The North Londoners are said to be interested in acquiring the 27-year-old’s services, with reports in Spain suggesting they have contacted Raphinha’s representatives for a potential move in the summer window.

However, as Spurs try to acquire common terms with the player, his current employers recently turned down a €60 million (£51.2 million) bid from an undisclosed Premier League team. The Brazilian has reclaimed his spot at the club in recent weeks and has made significant contributions in both La Liga and the Champions League.

The officials at Barcelona are said to be ‘very happy’ with Raphinha, and the Brazilian will not be sold for less than €80 million (£68.3 million). He has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and it is to be seen whether Tottenham can compete with the financial powers of the Middle East for his signatures.

The Spurs need someone with such skill on the wings. Ange Postecoglou likes his wingers to receive the ball on the outside and carry it into tight positions, from which they can deliver an incisive pass. Raphinha did this on a continuous basis for Leeds in the Premier League.
