No redemption for Bryan Gil as Tottenham prepare to pull the plug

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is ready to sanction the sale of young winger Bryan Gil for an apparent transfer fee of £15 million, per the Tottenham News.

Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from the North Londoners owing to a lack of minutes under his belt at N17.

The club fought tooth and nail to bring him to White Hart Lane in 2021. His transfer was anticipated to be a bargain, despite a mammoth £21 million fee, with Erik Lamela heading the other way to Sevilla. Though it has turned out to be far from expected, looking back, no parties have benefited from the move in the three years since.

While Gil has had his struggles to settle in England, he has enjoyed decent loan spells away from the North Londoners. The 23-year-old enjoyed a couple of loan spells in his home country with Sevilla and Valencia. While the Lilywhites chose to keep him for the 2023–24 season, he has failed to make an impact, with an aggregate of only 189 Premier League minutes in 10 appearances this season.

To put it into context, since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Gil has recorded only 42 appearances in three years at the club while providing two assists and failing to find the back of the net donning the Spurs shirt.

As Tottenham look for a potential solution, Bryan does not want to move over to another temporary deal, and Daniel Levy & Co. are ready to allow Gil to depart on a permanent basis.

Looking at his current situation at N17, Dutch side Feyenoord are looking to secure his signatures. He has a couple of years on his current contract at Tottenham Hotspur, and any potential departure would be beneficial for all parties.
